"The beta label acknowledges that we think OpenCaching.com is a useful site as things stand today, but that we realize there are many more things that need to be added to the site to bring it to its full potential. It lets everyone know that "What is OpenCaching.com" is still be defined. We are still very open to user feedback and that we won't be afraid to change how things work if it will make OpenCaching.com better.
The idea that we have given up on this site couldn't be further from the truth.
1. We were well aware of how much work it would take to get OpenCaching.com going before we started any work.
2. We had two big site updates in Decemember, and today we are announcing two more big features."
