" As you may have seen in the news the historic tea clipper, The Cutty Sark was severely damaged by fire in the early hours of 21st May 2007. The ship was the subject of this virtual cache and had been visited and logged by geocachers from around the world.
My first reaction was of total dismay and I archived the cache (too hastily). However I have been contacted by the Cutty Sark Trust who were in the process of restoring the ship. They are determinted that the ship WILL be restored, albeit on a much longer timescale and with a much higher cost. They asked if I could keep the cache going to help with the public awareness of the restoration plans in future months and years. "
